Dear Fr. Kevin
I wish to send you and all the Columban Fathers and Lay Missionaries, the prayers and congratulations of the Columban Sisters as you begin your centenary celebrations.
We rejoice with you as you remember the many joys and challenges of the last 100 years. It has been our joy to be partners with you in sharing the good news of the Gospel. We join you in giving thanks for all the ways we have been evangelized ourselves by the people whose lives we have been privileged to share.
We pray that all of us can continue to listen to and hear the cry of the earth and of the poor. As you celebrate your centenary may you be filled with the joyful realization that the Gospel can satisfy the deep longing for meaning that is so present in our world.
May you continue to enable true dialogue towards peace and reconciliation among all cultures and faith traditions. Let us move forward together, with trust in God’s continuing providence, into a future full of hope and new possibilities.
