My mission as a Columban lay missionary has been an amazing journey that was guided by faith, fueled by hope, and has resulted in transformation.

Voicing my opinion and being listened to is important to me. At the end of my stay at the border, I am grateful for so many people, Columbans, religious, friends, and others who have been part of this wonderful journey.

" As servers and ministers, we encourage them to realize that participating in ongoing faith formation is important not only to be better in their ministries but also in nourishing their spirituality. I feel blessed and inspired to witness their growing faith and dedication while serving in the church and the community."

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. (John 3:16-17)

Thankfully, God gave me the strength to persevere in my desire to be a lay missionary, to wait patiently, and have faith in his perfect timing.
Matthew 24:37-44 Jesus said to his disciples: "As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man."

"Despite yet again another victory, we know that these mining companies will never stop destroying our place for their greedy interests. Still, we believe that when people are united to defend the sanctity of our natural resources, there is hope that these greedy companies will never succeed."

“God always forgives. We humans sometimes forgive. The earth never forgives. There can be no future if we destroy the very environment that sustains us” (Pope Francis, Our Mother Earth, p36).

"The LOM Handbook states that the Spiritual Director/ directress is a priest, deacon, religious sister or brother. Because of this, I, being a lay missionary felt undeserving to be the Spiritual directress."
