Commitment and Mission

Commitment and Mission

Every baptized Catholic has a mission to carry out and continue the work of Jesus Christ on Earth: to share the word of God.

To be a Columban Mission Partner is a commitment and a mission in itself and not  everyone is called to be one.

For me, no matter how simple the work may be, being a mission partner is a calling and a vocation. God does not look on the complexity of the mission anyways, but on the manner we respond to it.

Before the pandemic, my husband and I, as mission partners, regularly attended the monthly Recollection and Eucharistic Celebration at Child Jesus of Prague School, Inc., Binangonan, Rizal. We are so blessed to have Rev. Fr. Rolly Aniscal, SSC as our regular recollection master and mass celebrant. There are times when other Columban Missionaries would grace us with their sharing and reflection. With Ms. Evelyn Sabate as the Mission Promotion Animator for Luzon area, our numbers have increased remarkably.

Our monthly celebration is an opportunity to grow spiritually. It also serves as an avenue for kumustahan among new and old friends. Through this, we are able to maintain the sense of camaraderie among us.

Even in this time of pandemic and despite the continuous increase in the number of Covid-19 positive cases, we continue to have our monthly Recollection and Eucharistic Celebration through Zoom.

We might be observing physical distancing in this time of difficulty, but let us not forget to be closer to one another in spirit through our prayers.

Let us continue praying for our missionaries and fellow mission partners. May God through the intercession of Mama Mary and St. Columban, protect us and keep us safe always.
