Creation proclaims the Kingdom of God
Creation proclaims the Kingdom of God

It’s not often that I look at the heavens, in awe of what God has in store for each one of us for our safe-keeping and nourishment. My holidays back home and my recent trip to the Philippines brought an atmosphere of wonder and thanksgiving. Despite this, I do not forget my responsibility towards God’s creation. It is, after all, the beauty of the earthly landscapes and the ecosystems of our deep blue sea that brings life into humanity.
We are students for life. We are bound to continuously learn something new about ourselves, our fellow human beings and God’s other creations. With the different religious traditions existing within our earthly fold, one thing that binds us together is our shared love of Creation and all She has to offer. It is sobering to witness that the rapid increase of calamities all over the world has left many of our siblings in Christ homeless and helpless. At this moment, for instance, Pakistan is suffering through a catastrophe. Despite not being personally affected, each one of us has a part to play in its repair and healing. We can start small but dream big in terms of the result at hand. All this for the greater glory of God.
We are called to be stewards of Mother Earth. This requires a spirit of resilience and perseverance, clothed in the tapestry of humility and generosity. We are linked bodies of a much greater cause: to protect the environment we call home. The little that we do continues to build the process of repair and healing. Remember always that Creation proclaims the Kingdom of God. Wherever we are, we must ensure that we never let the candle lit within our hearts be blown away by the greed of humanity to exploit the tranquil earthly beauty we have been blessed with. It is now or never.
