A Personal Poem
By Mosese Yacalevu, Columban Seminarian
Good day, siblings in Christ.
As we say thank you
In every possible way
For the Lord is with us every single day.
Dear friends,
A window is always open.
When the going gets tough
And the road gets bumpy and
Often covered by dust.
The courage to be vulnerable
Brings out the best in life;
For in the darkness,
There is always a light shining bright.
A window offers us a pause โ
To breath, to see, and realize
That we are sinners and in need of healing
In every encounter in life.
Pride cannot carry us far;
As our souls will be deprived
Of the rich experiences
Our Lord very much justifies.
Look out, dear friends;
As all windows
Provide a space of humility, so divine.
Yes, our limitations are enabling
And unique every single time.
Always keep a lookout,
For a window is always open
No matter how small it might appear to be.
For in remembering that there is always a space,
To be deeply free indeed.
I look out the window
As the sun shines ever bright,
With the heat and breeze
Encompassing the trees and all it brings.
May this poem offer you an insight or two
Into the reality of grace:
As all windows invite us to breath
ย and feel once again
That we are all forever connected to one another and to God.
I leave with a window in full sight
Knowing that it is always open.
With the voice of God
Deeply echoing into all depths:
Oh Graceful Divine,
Forever so faithful, forever so right.
AMEN.
