CLM Christmas Carols-Ireland

To mark the 30th Year Anniversary of the Columban Lay Missionaries, this is our Christmas gift to you.  This is our gift to all Columbans throughout the world, to all our benefactors and supporters, to those who share in our journey, to say Thank You for all your blessings and to let you know that you are always in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear LM Coordinators and Contact Persons,

The Christmas season is coming upon us and although our celebrations this year will be different than previous years and need to be reimagined as we spread Christmas cheer through masks while being socially distanced, we nevertheless acknowledge that the Good News of God’s great love for us is still transforming lives with the radical hope made flesh through the birth of Jesus.

In an effort to spread Solidarity over the season of Advent and Christmas to share hope to those suffering from isolation due to lockdowns, hope to those who have been deprived on contact with family and friends, and hope for those who are dealing with the very real impact the virus is having among their ministries, the Columban Lay Missionaries have gathered together with ordained members, students, co-workers and members of their communities to sing a selection of Christmas Carols in different languages that we hope will bring some joy over this festive season.

Starting today, and over the next few days, as we approach the celebration of Christmas Day, we will publish a Christmas Carol from each RMU that we encourage you to please share within your RMU’s, on your social media and websites.  The videos will be published on YouTube every day and kindly share the link with all the LMs in your RMU.

Today’s video is from the Region of Ireland and features our LMs, Kyungja Lee and Angie Escarsa, singing the classic Christmas Carol ‘Silent Night’ in gaelic (Oíche Chiúin), accompanied by ordained members in Dalgan Park.

Enjoy the performance and may you all have a very Merry Christmas!

Peace and Advent blessings,

Vida, Cata and Kevin
