Feeding the Hungry
by Sr. Cheche Pulido, FdCC
Responding to the needs of our less fortunate brothers and sisters who are adversely affected by the COVID 19 pandemic, we, the Novitiate Community of the Canossian Daughters of Charity, have been preparing and distributing cooked meals to the homeless. Our recipients are mostly street dwellers. Some of them are construction workers who are forced to live in the streets because they were caught in the middle of the lockdown and could not go back home. Others are collectors of recyclable materials but could not make a living because junk shops are closed. This feeding program commenced on Easter Monday and continues up to this time, on a weekly basis.
God has been so generous to us by sending our way good hearted people who are making this program possible through their donations in cash or in kind. For the month of August and September, we have partnered with the Missionary Society of St. Columban – so we can continue this mission of feeding the hungry. Our heartfelt gratitude to you dear Columban Missionaries for our partnership in this mission. May the Lord reward your kindness and generosity.
