Remind Us of God’s Majesty
Praise be to God! Fr. Louie Ybañez was ordained a priest by Bishop Edwin dela Peña, MSC of St. Mary’s Prelature of Marawi on February 16, 2019 at the Most Holy Rosary Parish, Agusan, Cagayan de Oro City. The Columban Missionaries are most grateful to God for having another committed person saying YES to the call to mission on the occasion of its 90 years of mission in the Philippines. The whole community rejoiced. The smiles and tears on the faces of Father Louie’s family and friends convey their deepest emotions which words could never describe. Though it was difficult for them to let go of Father Louie at the start, since he was never separated from them, eventually they have come to accept his call and supported him in his decision.
Bsp dela Peña, in his homily encouraged Father Louie by saying, “We need you to be a holy, good and faithful priest. In spite your unworthiness, speak to us the word of God; point us to eternal life, and in your life and ministry remind us of the majesty of God’s grace.” With these thoughts, we pray with Father Louie as he will journey with the people in Pakistan where he will be assigned.
